Since 2010, my journey with skiing began on the slopes of Blue Mountain, Pennsylvania, where I embraced both snowboarding and skiing. By 2015, I had explored major ski resorts across the United States, a testament to my passion for this exhilarating sport. However, the arrival of my first child in 2016 saw my skiing adventures put on hold, until 2020, when I introduced my 3-year-old son to the slopes at Ski Bowl, Oregon. This reignited my passion and marked the beginning of teaching my son, and later my daughter, the joys of skiing.

I quickly became acquainted with the challenges of teaching young children to ski: the discomfort of cold weather, the difficulties of managing ski gear, the steep learning curve, the fear of falling and getting injured, attention span issues, and the logistical challenge of traveling to ski resorts. The cold weather also posed a risk of illness after the long journeys home. These experiences were challenging for me, even as an experienced skier, and I could only imagine the difficulties faced by parents without a skiing background. Additionally, the worry of other skiers accidentally colliding with my children was ever-present.

It took my son two years to master skiing, but it became a beloved activity for our family, transforming our winter weekends into cherished family time. As I began the process again with my daughter, I discovered indoor ski machines in 2023. Already popular in Europe and Asia for instruction and practice, these machines piqued my interest. Although they can't replicate the experience of skiing on real snow entirely, they offer a valuable tool for overcoming the initial challenges of learning to ski.

Seeing the potential to make skiing more accessible and enjoyable, especially for beginners, I initiated contact with manufacturers in the Netherlands to bring these innovative indoor ski machines to the greater Portland area. This technology promises to help learners navigate the most difficult stages of learning to ski, providing a safer, more controlled environment to develop a love for the sport.


This venture isn't just about business; it's about sharing my passion for skiing and making it accessible to more families. By introducing indoor ski machines to Portland, I aim to create a space where families can bond over the joy of skiing, regardless of the weather outside. This initiative represents a bridge between the challenges of learning to ski and the joy it brings, ensuring that the sport can be enjoyed by everyone, anytime.
